Potomac Shores is more than 1,900 acre master planned community with nearly two miles of shoreline along the Potomac River and Powell’s Creek. The mixed-use community includes 1,000 acres of preserved hardwood forests and streams, the area’s only public Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. This transit-oriented development is planned for a mixed-use town center, a new VRE commuter rail station, a waterfront village and a corporate campus. Its master plan also includes two public schools, multiple sports fields, 10 miles of trails and over 3,800 residences.

J2E has worked with the client from the land planning stage to final engineering for over 1,200 lots, including Club House Expansion, the Potomac Shores Club, Potomac Shores Parkway, Route 1 Improvements, Expansions of the VDOT Park and Ride facility and widening of Route 234 from Interstate 95 to the Route 1 intersection.

The community offers the 13,000 square-foot Shores Club. The facility offers a modern gym, movement studio, yoga lawn, Kids Club and eight-lane competition pool with amphitheater-style viewing areas. Our Social Barn offers a cozy living room, demonstration kitchen and family pool with its own sundeck, cabanas, kids’ pool and snack bar. Open-air gathering places include a covered outdoor patio, community garden, a working greenhouse and an expansive 9,400 square-foot event lawn for all kinds of Potomac Shores events.
